Moving to a new country brings many questions at once. Use this checklist as a starting point and adapt it to your situation.

Before you travel
Write down your purpose and length of stay, the emirate where you plan to live and who is supporting the process. Check entry requirements and documents directly with the relevant authorities. A friend’s experience may not apply to your circumstances.

Prepare a folder and a budget
Keep important document copies and contact details in a secure place. Separate initial and recurring costs: travel, temporary accommodation, rent, utilities, transport and insurance. Ask what each quotation includes in writing.

During your first weeks
Test the commute before choosing a home. Explore nearby transport and services. Confirm the residency and document steps with the authority or person responsible for your application.

Build your network
The community can share experience and practical questions. For a legal, tax or medical decision, seek advice tailored to your situation from a qualified professional. Do not share personal documents in group chats.
